Thirty million people in the United States get migraines which are at least one in ten people. People suffer from a certain kind of migraine which leads to more than one billion dollars a year spent in health care and thirteen billion lost to industry due to reduced effectiveness at work.
Migraine headaches are the primary headache disorder for which women are most likely to seek medical treatment for. From after the onset of puberty, migraines affect women more than men in a ratio of 3.3 to 1 because of hormonal fluctuation.
